Jesus and the Daughter of Jairus

I really wanted to design this story, but it was tricky to figure out. The girl needed to come alive at the end of the story but I didn't want her to just appear on the flannel board. So I decided to have her "hide" under the quilt with her hand sticking out. That way Jesus could take her by the hand and pull her out from under the quilt. So what you see in the photo is really just the sick/dead girl's head on the pillow. And the pillow and the quilt are covering the alive girl. It really does work well. You just have to be sure to flip the pillow over so the kids don't freak out when they see a dead head and an alive girl at the same time! In all seriousness, this is a tender and wonderful story and is really special to be able to share with the littles.
